Job Description

Fulcrum Engineering Solutions is seeking an experienced Civil Designer/Senior Civil Designer to join our team of civil engineers. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Independently completing engineering designs 
  • Directing individual civil engineering design tasks
  • Collaborating with Project Managers or acting as a Project Manager to guide the progress of jobs and team members
  • Performing Quality Assurance checks and Quality Control tasks 
  • Making decisions that will be integral to meeting our clients needs
  • Proactively identifying technical, schedule or financial issues and seeking resolutions with help from management and project managers
  • Monitoring construction and field personnel to ensure desired project results
  • Working with contractors to answer questions, address issues and make project addendums

Job Qualifications

Job Description

Fulcrum Engineering Solutions is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Traffic Engineer to join our team of civil engineers. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CAD technology
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
  • Work to provide design details and plan sets
  • Craft objective summary reports to be used in the completion of the project work
  • Help prepare engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Handle field observation, inspection and data collection duties
  • Communicate with client staff and internal team

Job Qualifications 

Meet the needs of this specific role with the following skills and experiences:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experience
  • EIT is preferred 
  • Ideal candidates will have at least three years of experience working on transportation and traffic engineering specific projects
  • Must have experience with Microstation
  • Preferences will be given to applicants with knowledge of topics such as Traffic Analyses, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, Signing Design, Traffic Management Plan Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing

Fulcrum Engineering Solutions is seeking a qualified and dedicated Environmental Engineer to join our team of civil engineers. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting clients with gaining permitting
  • Ensuring client projects are government compliant
  • Creating designs that enhance natural environments and/or mitigate possible harm to them
  • Craft plans for restoring or stabilizing sites 
  • Taking into account pollution prevention
  • Designing stormwater systems 
  • Preparing various reports and studies related to project permitting
  • Conducting site visits in Central and Eastern Virginia 

Job Qualifications 

Meet the needs of this specific role with the following skills and experiences:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experience
  • EIT or PE is preferred
